Can i install it myself or should i ask a professional?

So, you’ve deliberated, been to our showroom and workshop a couple of times and then finally taken the plunge. The radiator style fits the vision for your room and the colour perfectly harmonises with your interior.

We believe that every one of our clients deserves a bespoke service that is tailored to their needs and requirements that doesn’t end straight after purchase.

After you’ve taken delivery of your beautiful cast iron radiator, the next stage is to have it fitted. We are often asked “is it difficult to install a cast iron radiator?” The short answer is , no! We’ll be able to give you detailed advice upon request. Every home is different and every radiator can be different. We don’t believe there is a ‘one size fits all’ set of instructions.

In principle, cast iron radiators can be installed anywhere as long as there is a hot water system involved. Bear in mind though that cast iron radiators are for use on closed heating systems only, they are not suitable for installation on secondary hot water circuits. A cast iron radiator works on exactly the same principles as modern radiators meaning you can simply replace a modern, steel radiator. If you are having any renovation work done however, we always recommend that you have your radiator on site prior to having any pipe work installed. There can often be small differences in measurements of radiators so it’s best to have the radiator with you before committing to any pipe work that will have to be adjusted at a later date and incur a further cost.

Although we can provide you with detailed instructions on how to fit your cast iron radiator, we always recommend that you employ a professional to undertake your installation. This gives your cast iron radiator the best start in its new life. You’ve just invested in a piece of engineering and a beautiful item of homeware. You don’t want to risk over tightening the bushes or valves thus creating leaks by exerting too much pressure or using the wrong equipment.

One of the reasons customers choose us for their radiators over other cast iron radiator retailers is our unrivalled after care service. Should you need any advice or information regarding installation or indeed any other aspect of your new cast iron radiator then pick up the phone and call us. We’re always happy to help and advise. We believe that every one of our clients deserves a bespoke service that is tailored to their needs and requirements that doesn’t end straight after purchase.
